Sweet and Spicy Beef Jerky Recipe

This sweet and spicy beef jerky recipe will surely send your taste buds into overdrive.  Best of all, you will save yourself quite a bit of money on beef jerky when compared to store bought beef jerky and it’s really simple to make.

Simply slice up an arm roast, make your marinade, let it sit if the fridge for a few hours and throw it on the smoker, in the oven or in a dehydrator for a few hours.  Let’s stop wasting time and start making the best beef jerky you have ever had!

Sweet and Spicy Beef Jerky Ingredients

  • 3lb arm roast (any beef roast should work for this recipe)
  • 3 Tblsp Worchester sauce
  • 3 Tblsp soy sauce
  • 3 Tblsp sriracha
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp ginger root
  • 2 tsp Crushed

Prep Instructions

  • Slice your arm roast against the grain in at about 1/4 inch thickness
  • Mix your Worchester sauce, soy sauce, Sriracha, brown sugar, minced garlic, ginger root, crushed red pepper flakes, kosher sale and black pepper in a mixing bowl
  • Add your arm roast into your mixing bowl and get a good coating on each piece of beef jerky
  • Cover with saran wrap or place in a zip lock bag and put in the fridge for at least 2 hours
  • After removing from the fridge, use a paper towel to pat beef jerky dry

Smoking Instructions

  • Pre heat smoker to 180 degrees
  • Lay beef jerky on grill grate and ensure there is a minimum 1/4 inch space between sliced of beef jerky to ensure smoke encircles each piece
  • Every hour or so check on beef jerky and give it a flip
  • Smoke beef jerky for about 4 hours or until you can bend beef jerk and it shows some tear but does not break
  • Remove beef jerky from smoker and enjoy
  • Your beef jerky should last about 2 days on the counter, up to a week in the fridge or 6 months or longer in the freezer
